Winds and Pipes! A Concert of Organ & Brass - Sunday, May 19 - 7:00 p.m.

Concerts at Arborlawn and the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists present Arborlawn organist Jerry Westenkuehler and The Brasses at Arborlawn in a concert featuring brass and organ on Sunday evening, May 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Don’t miss this wonderful recital featuring the music of Widor, Rimsky-Korsakov, Westenkuehler, Gabrieli, Ewald, Strauss, and Sousa, among others.  Admission is free, but an offering will be received.  Don’t miss this wonderful evening of Winds and Pipes!

Welcome to the second season of Concerts at Arborlawn at Fort Worth’s Arborlawn United Methodist Church! 


This season features both local and national artists in five series: The Year of the Organ Dedication Series, The Arborlawn Series, The Noon-Day Series, The Community Series, and The University Series.

The Chancel Choir and The Orchestra at Arborlawn recorded the October 21, 2012 concert live for a CD release, How Can I Keep From Singing, is now available through the music office. This recording, priced at $15, will be available through the church office and at the Lower Commons kiosks on Sundays.  This recording, also featuring Cantabile, our youth ensemble,  includes repertoire selected as favorites of Chancel Choir members, as follows:  Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing; Beethoven’s Hallelujah; How Can I Keep from Singing; O Be Joyful in the Lord; Declare the Maker’s Praise; Praise the Lord by Handel; He Watching Over Israel from Elijah; Come, Dwell in Solomon’s Walls; Zion’s Walls; The Understanding of the Lord; Sing Me to Heaven; My Song in the Night; Dan Forrest’s in paradisum…; and Fairest Lord Jesus.  Put this wonderful recording of favorite anthems on your Christmas list this year!
